Your time is PRECIOUS!

Your time is precious! Ever feel like you don’t have enough time to do all that you want? Are you frustrated when you don’t fit your workout in because of time restraints? You don’t need hours and hours everyday to reach your goals. Like anything you apply yourself to, you should aim to be as efficient and effective as possible; thus, HIIT is the best way to get the results you desire. 

  1. The number one reason I love high-intensity interval training is because of the effect of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption). Anaerobic interval training allows you to burn calories during the workout and continue burning at a high rate after. 

  2. Exercise increases the oxygen demands on your body. The increase in demand causes higher caloric expenditure during and after exercise. 

  3. HIIT programs teach your body to quickly recover 

  4. Just like LSD (long-slow distance)training, HIIT (high intensity interval training) improves stroke volume, enhances aerobic efficiency, and increases mitochondrial density. 

If you are going to see the results you’d like, you cannot cheat yourself. Make sure to pay attention to your levels of exertion (1 [low intensity]-10 [highest intensity])

 * During HIIT, aim to be working between a 7-10. Don’t be afraid of pushing yourself to breathlessness [make sure to push your limits- it’s only 30-45 seconds of work]!!
