Quarantine Rut
Stuck in a rut during these hard times?
During this difficult time, it is imperative that we take care of our body and mind. Nutrition is an extremely important factor to identify when trying to feel happy and healthy. While we are all keeping a social distance from others, stuck inside our houses and working in a completely new routine, it’s essential to create structure and routine.
Ask your self these questions:
Feel hangry?
This is a prime example of how eating directly effects our mood.
Feel lethargic after eating of highly processed foods? e.g. soda, fast food, pre-made desserts, or chips.
High refined sugars and saturated/trans fats don’t make you feel nice. Packing your diet with foods like these will directly impact your stress, anxiety, and mood.
How regular are you?
Probiotics and Prebiotic rich foods help balance your GI tract/gut
So what should you do? EASY ANSWER!
Pack your diet with vegetables, whole grains, fresh fruit, EVO, lean protein, high dietary fiber, add nuts, avocados, legumes, whole grains, yogurt, cottage cheese, oats, etc.
Eating a quality diet is truly what will make a greatest impact on your energy, mood and wellbeing.
When you are stuck in the same routine and all the days begin to feel the same, sometimes sleep, quality nutritional planning, and hygiene get lost. Make sure to stay hydrated, set alarms to get in bed, wake up, and plan ahead for your meals. Plus, incorporate antioxidant rich foods like like ginger and garlic and you will get a nice boost to your immune system.
